Nerd demi-God and “Dollhouse” creator Joss Whedon recently won honors with the PGA’s Vanguard Award.
I know what you must be thinking. I didn’t know Joss played golf?! No, it’s not PGA “golf” but rather an acronym for Producers Guild of America. Whedon has won the award for “achievements in new media and technology” a nod most likely due to his web short “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog.”
He is now in honorable company with previous awardees such as George Lucas, James Cameron, John Lasseter and… Tom from MySpace.
David Friendly and Laurence Mark, co-chairs of the PGA Awards said: “Joss Whedon has mastered the art of melding the newest technology with inspired storytelling, truly exemplifying the spirit of the Vanguard Award.”
So congratulations for Joss for his much deserved recognition. Who will be honored next year in a ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium on January 24, 2010.
