MTV had a chance to speak with Kat Dennings from “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” at the Toronto International Film Festival who was in town to discuss her upcoming pseudo-superhero movie “Defendor” with Woody Harrelson.
When asked about an adaptation she’d love to be in, Dennings called out action-horror series “Hack/Slash” by Tim Seeley, published by Devil’s Due Publishing.
“You know who’s a cool girl comic book thing?” said Dennings. “Hack/Slash!”
“Hack/Slash” stars Cassandra Hack, a girl who travels the world hunting supernatural serial killers (or slashers as she calls them) with the help of her partner, a lumbering yet sensitive monster named Vlad.
“Hack/Slash” is currently in development with Rogue Pictures, the Relativity Media subsidiary responsible for “Shaun of the Dead” and “Doomsday.” And last we heard, commercial director Fredrik Bond had taken over directing duties replacing Todd Lincoln. Penning the script for “Hack/Slash” is Justin Marks, the screenwriter for “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” and drafts of the “Super Max,” “Grayskull” and “Voltron” movies.
