Kevin Smith has a new cop comedy called “A Couple Of Dicks,” but for obvious reasons Warner Brothers isn’t too happy with the title so it’s getting changed. Thanks to Smith’s own self absorbed twittering, we now know that there is indeed a new title for the film, however, it has yet to be revealed…
“The Movie Formerly Known as A Couple Of Dicks has finally settled on a (network-policy-dictated) replacement title!” Smith tweeted and teased yesterday.
Adding that “While we’ll always have Dicks in our hearts, the title we just now locked makes me smile on a bunch of different levels – including this 1: we can now advertise our movie properly (& ironically). And said marketing begins… on every print of Sherlock Holmes, Christmas Day!”
According to Smith, the reason he can’t announce the new title is because it’s above his pay-grade and that “WB will announce in a day or two.” Additionally he explains, “Dicks is not MY movie; a movie I was hired to direct.”
Well, there ya go. To sum it up, the movie formerly known as “A Couple of Dicks” will get a name change and a the trailer will be attached to “Sherlock Holmes” which opens Christmas day.
