When First Blood hit theaters in 1982, no one could have imagined that we’d be talking about Rambo 5 being made 22 years later. However, here we are, and I’m actually pretty happy with it. The last Rambo film that Stallone made was actually good. It was gritty, it was over the top, it was everything we want out of the Expendables but never seem to get action and bloodwise.
It turns out that not a lot of people read Sylvester Stallone’s Twitter feed, because he announced it back on the 28th and people are just picking up on it today. Right now, he’s filming Creed, a promising Rocky spin-off featuring Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s grandson. In the movie, Stallone will appear as Rocky, but this time he’ll be the taking on the coach and mentor role. Jordan is always great to watch, and I’m really interested to see how Stallone does with a role that will hopefully draw heavily from Burgess Merideth’s Mickey in the first three Rocky films.
When he’s done with that movie, according to Twitter, he’ll be filming Last Blood: Rambo and then he head’s off to make the mobster film, Scarpa.
