Five years after the release of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, talk of the Furiosa-centric prequel spin-off is starting to heat up. For a long time there was talk of using CGI de-aging on Charlize Theron to keep her in the role. Now, the director has told THR that he believes that isn’t feasible.

“For the longest time, I thought we could just use CG de-aging on Charlize, but I don’t think we’re nearly there yet.”

Now the hunt is on for a new Furiosa and THR has confirmed that Killing Eve star, Jodie Comer is near the top of the list. Comer is having an amazing career moment right now. Along with the critically and fan-acclaimed Killing Eve, where she plays the crazy and murderous, Villanelle, she also appeared as the mother of Rey in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, she’s set to star in Good Guy alongside Ryan Reynolds, and she’s set to co-star with Adam Driver, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck in Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel.
