We should have known that they weren’t done yet. On the heels of their announcements for The Avengers Infinity War, The Black Panther, and Thor Ragnarok, Marvel has also just announced they they’ll be releasing a Captain Marvel film on July 6, 2018. It makes total sense, you can’t really do Thanos without Captain Marvel… I would have said the same about Silver Surfer, but Fox kinda pissed all over that one.
Here’s what Marvel’s Kevin Fiege had to say about Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel:
“This Captain Marvel’s name is Carol Danvers. This film has been in the works almost as long as Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy before it came out, and one of the key things was figuring out what we wanted to do with it. Her adventures are very earthbound, but her powers are based in the cosmic realm.
