This news hit last night, but it’s so great that we wanted to make sure that you saw it. The upcoming Disney Streaming network has announced that MCU characters Scarlet Witch and Loki would each be getting their own live-action series. To make the news even better, they confirmed that Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising their roles. There isn’t much more than that right now by way of details, just that the shows should run 6-8 episodes each and that the budgets for them will be much closer to actual MCU films than previous Marvel TV shows like Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, or Jessica Jones.
The announcement is amazing, but it raises a lot of questions. When do the shows take place? Will they be before or after the events of Avengers 4? Will they be Elseworlds type stories or do they take place within MCU Canon? Will other heroes be popping in (We’d love to see the Vision/ Scarlet Witch story explored more)? What does this mean for the lifespan of the Marvel series currently being produced at Netflix?
No matter what the answers to these questions may be, one thing is for sure. The number of people interested in the upcoming Streaming network just jumped significantly.
