Along with the announcement about the casting of The Fantastic Four, Marvel also announced today that Thunderbolts is moving up its release date to May 2nd, 2025. That means we’ll be getting Captain America: Brave New World on February 14, 2025, Thunderbolts in May, and then Fantastic Four on July 25th, 2025.
This is a strategy that seems to fly in the face of Bob Iger’s recent comments that they plan to release less and focus more on quality, but only time will tell. At one point, there were rumors that Thunderbolts was going to get the Batgirl treatment and be shelved, but Kevin Feige has implemented massive reshoots on it (and Brave New World), which the studio seems confident about. Figure it this way, if they release two crappy films in the four months leading up to Fantastic Four, they are not going to be able to recover from it. So, here’s hoping.
