When Tom Cruise and the Mission Impossible franchise come back for their 7th and 8th chapters, at least one of the big bads he’ll be facing off against has been revealed. Christopher McQuarrie has already stated that he’ll be filming the new films back-to-back. That’s led many fans to believe that the two movies will be one-story with a cliffhanger in the middle. For at least part, of not all of the story, we now know that Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt will be going up against an unnamed villain played by Nicholas Hoult.

Hoult has been a star from his earliest roles in the show Skins (which also starred Dev Patel), all the way up through the X-Men films where he always shined (even when the movie didn’t) and underappreciated movies like this year’s Tolkein and the long-awaited “The Current War” with Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy.

We have no details on the story or on Hoult’s role, but we are very excited about seeing him in action against Tom Cruise. Franchise Veterans  Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, and Simon Pegg are set to return along with newcomers Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff and Shea Whigham.
