Jon M Chu is already a couple weeks into the filming of his movie adaptation of Jem and The Holograms, but casting announcements are still popping up online. Today’s announcement includes Juliette Lewis and one of the world’s biggest 80’s icons, Molly Ringwald. No announcement has been made as of yet as to who they will be playing.

They join a cast that includes: Aubrey Peeples (Nashville) as Jem, Stefanie Scott (Flipped) as Kimber, Hayley Kiyoko (The Fosters) as Aja, and Aurora Perrineau (Pretty Little Liars) as Shana.

In a departure from the original cartoon, the new film has Jem as an orphan who goes on an musical scavenger hunt after becoming an internet sensation.
