The new trailer just dropped for Morbius, the latest film in Sony’s Spider-Verse. In the new film Jared Leto stars as Dr. Michael Morbius, a doctor with a lifelong illness that he is desperate to cure. Unfortunately, the thing that finally helps him also turns him into a living vampire.
Despite serious misgivings about Leto taking on the role of Morbius, this trailer looks pretty fun. It could be the darkest, most horror-ish film to come out of Marvel in a long time. On top of that, the appearance of Michael Keaton teases that this film will definitely end up as part of the MCU’s current Spider-Man world, much in the same way that was teased at the end of Venom: Maximum Carnage.
Along with Leto, Morbius features a stellar cast that includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Morbius takes a bite out of the box office on January 28, 2022.
“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?”
