UPDATE: The roles of Jax, Raiden, and Mileena have now also been cast.
Actor Ludi Lin must have made a solid impression as a fighting video game character on his episode of Black Mirror because the actor was just cast as Liu Kang in the new Mortal Kombat reboot.
The new film is being produced by Aquaman director, James Wan, who previously worked with the actor on the WB undersea comic book adventure. Lin is also known as Zack, aka The Black Ranger in the recent big-screen reboot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
The new film is set to hit theaters in March of 2021 and we’ve yet to really hear any details about the plot of the film. This is actually only the second casting announcement made in relation to the film. Previously it was announced that The Raid’s Joe Taslim would be joining the film as Sub-Zero.
Here’s a clip of Lin from the Striking Vipers episode of Black Mirror where he played the video game avatar for Anthony Mackie.
