With the success of shows with a supernatural bent and the number of comic book properties that have been hitting the small screen lately, this was probably an inevitability. It is now being reported that NBC has given the all clear for the filming of a pilot based on DC’s John Constantine, from a script that was written by Daniel Cerone of The Mentalist and David S. Goyer of most awesome comic book related projects that aren’t housed at marvel. (Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel).
As you may remember from the Keanu Reeves film, Constantine is a supernatural detective who is defends mankind from the dark forces of evil. Interestingly, this isn’t the only project on the docket that features John Constantine. He’s also been announced as part of Guillermo Del Toro’s Justice League Dark film that is currently in the planning stages over at WB.
