NBC has ordered a pilot episode for “17th Precinct” which is described as Harry Potter on crack and for grown ups. The ensemble cop drama from the creator behind the “Battlestar Galactica” reboot, Ronald D. Moore, would take place in a fictional town of Excelsior that is governed by magic rather than science.
But don’t think Moore’s given up on BSG, he is also currently working on another “Battlestar Galactica” spin-off for the SyFy channel called “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.” The series would feature a young William Adama’s experiences in the First Cylon War.
It was originally designed as a series of 10-episode, 10-minute length promotional episodes, but with the cancellation of “Caprica,” the show is now being produced as a full television series which takes place forty years before “Battlestar Galactica.”
Rumor has it that “Blood & Chrome” will be shot completely with virtual sets and backdrops similar to “Sanctuary” on Syfy.
