Adi Shankar, creator of the Bootleg Universe, featuring independent re-imaginings of everyone from The Punsher to the Power Rangers, the producer on both Dredd, and The Grey, and the creator of the insanely popular Castlevania anime on Netflix has taken to Facebook today to tease fans with the idea of creating a Bootleg Universe project that’s based around The Care Bears.
If you’ve seen Shankar’s take on the Power Rangers, then you know that he’s got what it takes to bring depth and quality children’s franchises. The question is, was he just trolling fans, or is he going to give us a Care Bear stare like we’ve never seen before?
