Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is less than two weeks away and the studio wants you to know that if you don’t see the movie in IMAX, you are a loser. OK, maybe it isn’t that severe, but they are putting a big emphasis on why you should see it on the bigger screens.
Unlike most previous Marvel films, which have been filmed on traditional aspect ration movie cameras and then ported out to IMAX screens, this new movie was shot on the brand new IMAX/Arri 2d camera. What that means is that the movie was shot with a taller frame than traditional movies. So, if you go see Infinity War on a non-IMAX screen, there’s a good chance that you’ll be missing out on a little bit of the top and bottom of the action.
One thing is for sure, whether you go see the film in IMAX or not, just don’t waste your money on 3D unless you want a darker and less clear image.
Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on April 27th.
