Earlier today, we were promised a new Hellboy trailer at the stroke of Midnight and they actually came through. Not only is it a trailer, but it’s a red-band trailer, in keeping with the recent announcement that the film would be rated R for violence, gore, and language.
I’ve got to say that this trailer more than makes up for the last one. The humor is still there, but the almost goofy tone that confused so many fans with the last trailer is gone. Instead, it’s all bad-assness. We get a good look at all of the characters and a pretty solid idea of the film’s main plot-line. Some of the CGI still looks a little lackluster, but you never really know until you see it on the big screen. I’m definitely excited to see more.
Hellboy stars David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell, and Daniel Dae Kim. Hellboy opens hits theaters on April 12th
Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action-packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil series), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.
