With all the trouble that “Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark” is having (like the fact that they seem to be the most dangerous stage show ever produced) a lot of interest is starting to drift across the pond to Manchester England, where “Batman Live!” is prepping for is its premier this July.

Just what is the show? Well, sources behind the show are pretty clear about what it is not”

‘It’s not Batman the Musical.’ ‘It doesn’t have long, discursive scenes – Batman doesn’t lie back and say: “Isn’t that an interesting cloud?”’ By any other measure, not least the track records of the people involved, it looks like a winner.

That said, there are some pretty cool details about what the show will be and have:

– The show will not be performed in a theater, but in Britain’s biggest, grandest arena
– The performance stage will be 100ft-wide, 60ft-deep.
– There will be acrobatics, pyrotechnics, stuntmen, supervillains and screeching Batmobiles.
– Behind them, a giant video wall will flash panels from comic strips and special effects, and give the appearance of interacting with the live performers on stage.
