The Chinese and Japanese trailers for Monster Hunter starring Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa just dropped and it wants you to know one thing and one thing only, this film is taking its title very seriously. There will be monsters, lots of monsters, and it looks like the vast majority of the film will be spent hunting them.
The new trailer breaks from the first US trailer and doesn’t bother with any of the lead-in story. This one gets right to the meat of it. There are monsters. They are guarding stuff we want. Let’s kill them and get them to also kill each other when possible.
The movie is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, the same man who directed Jovovich in the Resident Evil franchise, and her husband. The film looks like it will have that same, fun, action-packed video game energy. Will the movie be Oscar-Worthy? We wouldn’t be on it, but it should be a fun excuse to scarf some popcorn.
