New ‘Power Rangers’ Trailer Feels A Lot Less Like ‘Vampire Diaries’

My big problem with the first Power Rangers trailer was the heavy “CW teen drama” vibe. The second trailer gave us a look at more action, but now we’ve got one that actually feels fun! There’s no escaping the campiness that makes the Power Rangers TV show so endearing. The first couple trailers leaned so dark and heavy, you’d think Zack Snyder directed them. I’m really happy to see this one showing off the action and the jokes, and giving us a sense that these kids feeling just as overwhelmed as you would in their position.

That said, holy crap! Alpha is a walking nightmare!

SABAN’S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
