The teasers we’ve gotten for Kong: Skull Island have me excited, and the newest one just serves to amp me up even more. We’ve seen plenty of Kong films, but this is the first one that really feels like it will have the full level of action that I’ve always wanted to see from an unleashed giant ape. Also, while I’m excited about seeing John Goodman and Tom Hiddleston, I find that John C. Reilly’s character is really starting to grow on me in a Dennis Hopper/ Apocalypse Now kind of way.
If there’s one thing that bums me out about this movie so far, it’s Sam Jackson. He can act. I know it. I saw A Time To Kill. Unfortunately, it seems like any time he’s cast in a movie since then, he’s pretty much just asked to play an angry version of himself.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings of Summer”).
In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific – as beautiful as it is treacherous – unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
