Cinema Blend recently posted an interesting story regarding “Iron Man” director John Favreau and his relationship with Marvel Studios. If it holds true, it appears the two sides are not on friendly terms at the moment.

Like all messy breakups, it involves money. According to the article, Favreau has been trying to negotiate for a higher salary for “Iron Man 2” but Marvel isn’t having any of that wanting to rather spend the money elsewhere such as special effects and big name stars *cough*Scarlett Johansson*cough*

Additionally it’s rumored that “Iron Man 2” was not the film Favreau had wanted to make and the piece goes on to saying that both Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. were disappointed with the final picture. Much of this had to do with Marvel’s meddling and interference trying to anchor Avengers elements into the movie in order to build up hype.

It’s hard to believe whether this is an accurate reporting or not, but it’s still interesting nonetheless and I suppose only time will tell.
