If you love classic horror and you caught the summer’s critically acclaimed ‘The Northman’ from director Roger Eggers, this is exciting news. Deadline is reporting that his follow-up to The brutal Viking film will be none other than his take on Nosferatu.
Deadline is also reporting that the film will star Bill Skarsgard (It and the upcoming The Crow remake) and Lily-Rose Depp (Tusk). This isn’t Eggers’ first Skarsgard as he worked with Alexander on The Northman. When the film originally went into development, Eggers had been in talks with Harry Styles and Anna-Taylor Joy and with Bill Skarsgard always set to play the classic monster. It’s unknown if Styles will still be part of the film, but Depp has taken over the slot filled by Taylor-Joy due to scheduling.
According to Deadline: in this new take on the story, ” Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him. “
