Onward is Pixar giving up on hiding the fact that their movies are going to make you cry. It’s basically in the plotline now. The new film, which features Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as two brothers on a quest to resurrect their dead father for one day so the younger brother can meet him for the first time. Even the idea of the movie is kind of devastating.

Still, it’s a Pixar movies, so it looks like we’ll be getting all the action and humor you’d hope from a quest/ road movie. After they pulled a fast one with the end of Toy Story 4, there’s no telling what heart-strings this one is going to tug by the end of the adventure.

Set in a suburban fantasy world, “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot (voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt), who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Also featuring the voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Ian and Barley’s mom, Laurel Lightfoot, and Octavia Spencer as the voice of the Manticore, Pixar Animation Studios’ all-new original feature film is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae—the team behind “Monsters University.”
