Pokemon Heading To YouTube With ‘Pokemon Generations’ Webseries

It’s a big week for Pokemon. First, Pokemon Go! released an update that allows trainers to get a buddy Pokemon (I chose Magikarp), and now we get this announcement of a brand new animated series on Youtube.

The new series, Pokemon Generations, is comprised of weekly shorts that give a different view into the trainers, villains and individual Pokemon than we’ve ever seen before. The trailer was released today and it does not disappoint. I just have one nagging feeling. Is it just me, or is this like the Animatrix, but for Pokemon?

Pokemon Generations premiers on YouTube September 16th and will feature a new episode each week until December 23rd!

The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016.
