Nicktoons has released the first promo trailer for the upcoming new series “Voltron Force.”

The series will follow the Voltron Force will journey to new planets, discover new powers and unearth ancient secrets. From the looks of it, the series will stay faithful to the original, while updated with three new young cadets who will learn what it takes to fight alongside the galaxy’s greatest heroes and pilot incredible robot lions who combine, become Voltron, the defender of the galaxy.

As of now, there are 26 scheduled episodes. The series, originally scheduled for release in the fall 2010, but has scheduled for a release on June 16, 2011. I’m not sure what the cause of the delay was, but from the looks of it it didn’t help improve the awful animation.

  1. Wow… am I alone in thinking that this looks horrible? The animation is looking like it is somewhere between an online flash cartoon and that awful hot wheels cartoon.

Right now, comparing this to what we’ve seen on the Thundercats Reboot… Lion-O just kicked the Lion Force’s ass.

Also, wtf is Voltron doing with guns? Since when did he need guns? He can shoot lasers out his hand and he’s got his fricken sword… the one that is in the damn shows logo!

This looks like one of the poorer adaptations I’ve seen of anything? Was this the only job M Night Shamalayan could get after pooching Airbender?
