It has been rumored for months that the long-suffering FOX-turned Disney Marvel Mutant film, The New Mutants would be released as an R-rated horror flick. Today the official rating came out and it looks like those rumors weren’t true. The movie will be hitting theaters at a much less scary sounding PG-13.
What does the PG-13 rating mean? “Violent content, some disturbing/bloody images, some strong language, thematic elements and suggestive material.” That still leaves a lot of opportunities for a good movie, but it also means that it won’t push as far as R-Rated mutant films like Logan, Deadpool, or Deadpool 2. We’ll know if it was worth the wait in just a month when New Mutants hits theaters.
