Brett Ratner, also known as the grand vortex of suck, has already pissed in our collective wheaties this week by announcing that he’ll be helming an adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood. Well, its only Wednesday and apparently, Ratner has more to say, this time about his really awful sounding Beverly Hills Cop 4.
Here’s some of what he told MTV:
1. It’ll be “hard R”
2. Instead of Beverly Hills Cop 4, it’ll just be called Beverly Hills Cop. That means that we are most likely going to be looking at a Reboot and not an regular sequel.
“It’s a reinvention,” Ratner told MTV. “I’m going to reintroduce it to a contemporary audience. I’m going to take the best of the first two films and put it into the new one.”
“Eddie Murphy to me was what Chris Tucker is to 12 and 13 year olds today. I would never do another buddy cop movie, but to do Beverly Hills Cop is a dream for me. Eddie is a genius.”
The one good thing we have going for us is that he’ll be doing Youngblood first. That means we won’t have to see this garbage for a couple years at least… I hope.
