There are two viruses sweeping the nation right now, Covid-19, and Tiger King. While you can help flatten the curve for Covid-19 by staying home and washing your hands, there’s no escaping Joe Exotic and the fact that Carol Baskin probably killed her husband and fed her to tigers.
One strange trend that has popped up in the last couple of weeks is bored celebs dressing up as the main character from the Netflix documentary series. Now, it looks like the story of Joe Exotic may live on in a scripted series from Glee/American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy and Rob Lowe.
The report comes from both Deadline and Lowe’s Instagram. Murphy and the actor are currently working together on the FOX spin-off series, 911: Lone Star, which also stars Liv Tyler.
Interestingly, this is not the first scripted show to be spawned out of the Tiger King story. SNL Alum Kate McKinnon is set to star and executive produced a different take on the story in which she’ll be playing Carole Baskin. That show will be based on the second season of Wondery’s Over My Dead Body podcast.
