‘RoboCop’ Star Peter Weller Joining Showtimes’ ‘Dexter’

Peter Weller who is best known for his title role in the first two “RoboCop” movies is joining the cast of Showtime’s “Dexter.”

Weller will play “a troubled Miami Metro police officer who gets caught up in an internal affairs investigation” in the fifth season of “Dexter” and is scheduled to appear in at least eight episodes

The veteran actor most recently guest-starred on Fox’ “Fringe” and will now only add to his resume by joining the Emmy nominated best drama series.

The fifth season of “Dexter” will premiere on September 26, 2010.
