Despite talks and intense rumors, Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, The Lovely Bones) will not star in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” after all.
In a recent interview with Belfast Telegraph, the young star revealed that she won’t star in “The Hobbit” as the Elf Itaril due to other projects that she’s interested in and commitment issues.
Here is an excerpt from the interview confirming her dropping out from “The Hobbit”:
It’s probably not going to work out with The Hobbit unfortunately…. Because I would have been working for about a year on it and there were other projects that I was very interested in.
It’s unsure now if Itaril has been cut from the film or if someone else will take over. We’ll have more as it develops.
