We know that the new Fox series, Gifted probably won’t be in the same universe as the Fox run X-Men films, but we now at least know that The X-Men and The Brotherhood exist in this universe as well. In the Comic Con trailer for the upcoming new show, both teams were mentioned by our heroes, but they were spoken about in terms of groups who were being hunted by Sentinels and no one is sure how many of them have survived. This sets up some great opportunities for our family on the run to meet up with individual survivors from either team, or possibly an entire group in hiding. It also means that our saviour mutants: Blink (Jamie Chung), Polaris (Emma Dumont) and Thunderbird (Blair Redford) are not currently aligned with either side, so that might be a choice that they have to come to on their own as time goes on.
THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
