Yesterday’s Archer panel not only came with the announcement that FXX is renewing the series for an 11th season, but that we will be seeing an end to the single-season fantasy stories as Archer finally wakes up from his coma after three years.
As it turns out, the main reason the show started its three-year genre-hopping adventure is that the showrunners had just gotten bored with the typical spy stories. However, now that they’ve had the time to recharge their batteries, they are excited to get back to it, especially now that there’s the added wrinkle of Sterling Archer coming back into a world (and a spy game) that has gone on without him for so long.
