Earlier this year, Steven Universe wrapped up a multiple season-long storyline in which Steven and the Crystal Gems had to save the earth and find a way to defeat the Diamonds. This could have been the end of the series, but there is more story to tell and that’s what we’ll be getting when Steven Universe: The Movie hits Cartoon Network on September 2nd.
While none of the cast was willing to give up any details about the film during today’s panel, some additional reporting was able to uncover that along with Rebecca Sugar (the show’s creator), and Estelle (the voice of Garnet), several other recording artists would be contributing to the music for the story including Chance the Rapper, Aimee Mann, Macie Stewart, and Jeff Liu .
Steven comes back to earth hoping to pick back up his life with the Crystal Gems, but trouble looms suddenly from a mysterious figure. Steven Universe The Movie premieres on Cartoon Network on September 2!
