One of Comic-Con’s early revelations today was the release of a new trailer for Damon Lindelof ‘s (Lost) new Watchmen series for HBO. The new trailer doesn’t really tell us what’s going on here as far as a plot. We just know that it’s a world a cult seems to have taken up the ideals of Rorschach and started killing police. Now, to protect themselves,

Other tidbits we get from the new trailer is that Doctor Manhatten is living on Mars, Laurie Blake/ Silk Spectre is now working for the FBI, and Ozymandias (now being played by Jeremy Irons) is definitely up to something. It’ll all reveal itself when Watchen hits HBO this October.

From Damon Lindelof and set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, this drama series embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk. Watchmen is based on the graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
