Seth Rogen Looking To Bring THE BOYS To The Small Screen

So far, the buzz on Seth Rogen’s TV adaptation of The Preacher is all good, and now it looks like he’s aiming to add to his comic to TV roster with an adaptation of Garth Ennis’ The Boys.

If you’ve never read the book, it tells the story of a special team who polices the crimes of super heroes. This isn’t anything like Powers, the great comic that has been horribly adapted for series on a video game platform. This is gritty, TV MA level stuff that I hope does not end up on AMC, because there’s no way in hell they’d be able to show half of the stuff in there.

When the book was first created, the main character – Hughie, was designed after Simon Pegg. There’s no word as to whether he’d be interested in playing the roll at this point in his life, or whether he’d even be interested in returning to TV.

There had been talk of a film adaptation of the story for the last five years with Anchorman director Adam McKay attached to it.

We’ll have to see what happens, but the hope is that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, along with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, can land it at HBO, where they are getting ready to have a real shortage of dramas in the next couple of years.
