Shane Black, the director behind the first two Lethal Weapons, Iron Man 3, and The Nice Guys, is currently developing a new animated series with FOX based on James Mullaney’s Crag Banyo P.I. book series.
While no major details have been given out yet, The Banyon novels follow the adventures of an alcoholic ex-cop turned private dick. He lives in an alternate noir world and many of his cases take Banyon into the realm of the supernatural. The best-selling series already has seven novels.
At the moment, the series is in development, but that doesn’t mean that it is going to happen. It all comes down to the script, the pitch, and the pilot. If it all works out, this could be a really interesting addition to FOX’s animation domination block on Sunday Nights.
