THR is reporting that Showtime is gearing up to announce a renewal for their phenomenal serial killer drama “Dexter” for a sixth season.
Having had its second highest ratings ever last Sunday night, over 2.5 million viewers tuned in to watch, up 43% from the fifth season premiere.
In 2008, Showtime renewed Dexter for two seasons. That probably won’t happen this time around since key talent deals will need to be renegotiated before the show’s seventh season. But hey, at least we’re getting a sixth and that’s something fans can definitely get excited over.
Expect the official “Dexter” renewal within the next week or so.
“Dexter” centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a forensic bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer.
