Wow, between this and the upcoming Uncle Buck Sitcom, it’s like Hollywood wants to destroy every great thing John Candy ever did.
News of the remake is coming from an unlikely place, CNBC. While interviewing Hollywood Icon producer, Brian Grazer, correspondent Carl Quintanilla, asked the man behind the original Splash and more insanely successful movies and TV shows than I can name, a hypothetical question about what a remake of the Tom Hanks/ Darryl Hannah classic would look like set in today’s world would look like.
Surprisingly, Grazer actually had an answer.
I’m actually gonna do Splash today, and I can’t say. I’m actually going to do it from the point of view of — I can’t say anything about it. There’s a movie star involved or gonna be involved. I haven’t announced it.
