Disney+ is starting the week off right with the announcement of the full cast for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. While we know Ewan McGregor was coming back to play Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen had been previously confirmed to return as Darth Vader, the rest of the cast is all big news. Two more Star Wars alumni we no know are returning are Bonnie Piesse and Joel Edgerton, reprising their roles as Owen and Beru Lars! including some great names like Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Sung Kang (Fast and Furious), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit), Indira Varma (Mission Impossible 7), Rupert Friend (Homeland), Simone Kessell (Reckoning), and Benny Safdie (Good Time, Director of Uncut Gems).
Along with the cast announcement, we were also treated to a new synopsis of the series:
“The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.”
