One of the most exciting recent announcements for the upcoming Disney Streaming Network was the news that Iron Man/ Jungle Book director, Jon Favreau would be creating and directing a live-action Star Wars series. When that announcement first game down the pike, we also learned that it would focus on the planet of Mandalore (Home Planet of Boba Fett’s clan) and it would be set between the events of The Return of The Jedi and The Force Awakens. Now, we know the name of the show and we have the first synopsis of the story.

The name: The Mandalorian.

Here’s the Synopsis:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Basically, it sounds like we’ll be getting a gritty outer-rim Western! While there have been no official casting announcements, rumors place Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal in the lead role for the series.
