Last night we got news that Jonah Hill was no longer seeking the role of The Penguin for Matt Reeve’s upcoming The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Today news is breaking that Paul Dano has just been cast as The Riddler for the new film.
Dano is an excellent actor and it is really exciting to see him take on a role like The Riddler. If you haven’t had a chance to see his work, you should check out movies like Love and Mercy, Swiss Army Man, There Will Be Blood, Prisoners, 12 Years a Slave, and Okja.
While we don’t know the exact details of The Batman’s story, there are several rumors pointing towards a film inspired by Batman: The Long Halloween, a year-long story that takes place shortly after the events of Batman: Year One and sees Batman tackling several villains from his Rogue’s Gallery in his hunt to stop a serial killer.
