Hot off the success of indie hit turned cash cow “Paranormal Activity,” original directors Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez have recently been talking about the possibility of a third Blair Witch movie or a remake.
A casting call and a shooting schedule have already been put out, but what’s uncertain is whether or not this will be a full blown studio remake/sequel or just a low-key side project.
According to Slashfilm, The Blair Witch Remake seems to be the later. But still, Myrick and Sanchez should know that low-key projects can sometimes turn into tremendous box office success if the right formula is applied. However, while the original Blair Witch scared the crap out of us back in 2000, there’s little doubt that a remake would have the same effect with all things considered.
We’ll have more with The Blair Witch Remake Project as it develops.
