That’s right, the sequel to The Hunger Games film that will be based off the book “Catching Fire” has been officially named “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” In other news, water has now officially been described as wet and Tobey Maguire’s performance as emo Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3 has been officially named as a crime against humanity.
OK, it’s not really huge news and it is the most obvious thing that we’ve reported… pretty much ever, but it is good to know that things are moving along nicely with the new film. Now that they have a name, they can start teasing us with posters and teaser posters and teaser trailers, and teasers for teaser trailers.
Here’s the official synopsis of the book from Amazon:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland are all set to reprise their roles for the sequel, which hits big screens November 22nd, 2013.
