The second trailer has dropped for one of the most talked about movies of the year, The Northman, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe. Honestly, does it even matter what the movie is about when you have a cast like this to look forward to?
The Northman is equal parts action-adventure and revenge tale as we follow a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge the murder of his father.
The trailer introduces a film that has an amazing level of intensity. The script was co-written by director Roger Eggers (The Lighthouse) and Sjon (Lamb, Dancer In The Dark) and it is based on the Viking legend of Amleth. The legend of Amleth, which goes back to at least the 12th century, is believed by many to be the original inspiration for Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
The Northman hits theaters on April 22nd.
