Disney+ made some news yesterday for putting the breaks on the planned Lizzie Maguire revival on the streaming platform because the two completed episodes were apparently not family-friendly enough. Today, the streamer has announced that another one of their family shows is set for a big comeback with the new animated revival, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
The new series will reunite the complete original voice cast of Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud.
Here’s what Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, for Disney+ had to say about the new series:
“The show’s humor and relatable stories are as relevant with audiences today as ever. Our audiences have loved rediscovering their favorite episodes of The Proud Family, and we’re excited Bruce, Ralph, Calvin, and the returning cast are creating new stories for their new home on Disney+. “
