All the streaming networks are looking for their own ‘Game of Thrones.’ For Disney Streaming, it’s Jon Favreau’s Star Wars/ Mandalore series. For Amazon Prime it’s the upcoming Lord of the Rings show. For Netflix, it’s a series adaptation of the novels and games of The Witcher series. Today Netflix moved one step forward by casting Superman Himself as Geralt. That’s right, Man of Steel/ Mission Impossible: Fallout star, Henry Cavill has been tapped to play the lead role in the upcoming series.

While many fans are excited (and some not so much) about the announcement, the big question that some are asking is what this means for Cavill’s chances of returning for another Superman film. In reality, it probably doesn’t affect it at all. If that film is going to happen, you can bet that the availability has already been slotted into the contract.

Here’s the series synopsis:
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
