Rumors of a film based on the life of Hobbit/ Lord of The Rings author, JRR Tolkien have been floating around since all the way back in 2013. Now we are hearing that the film is not only happening, but it is set to hit theaters this May! I really don’t know much about the life story of the author, other than the fact that he served in World War One and his experiences greatly influenced the ideas that were used to build Middle Earth and the Fellowship. We are excited about the release of the first trailer (which will hopefully be soon) and we are even more excited about seeing X-Men star Nicholas Hoult is starring in the film as JRR Tolkien.
Along with Hoult, the film stars Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris, and Derek Jacobi.
Tolkien hits theaters on May 10th.
Tolkien explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “Fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-earth novels.
