Toy Story 4 has been a challenging film to make for the folks over at Pixar. There wasn’t actually any problem with the film, but the movie lost its director and writing team over the allegations against John Lassiter. As a result, Assistant Director Josh Cooley was promoted to director with Coco co-director Jonas Rivera signing on as the film’s new co-director. Additionally, Thor: Ragnarok writer, Stephany Folsom has now been brought in to write the new script. So, now that everything is back on track, Cooley took to Twitter to announce the film’s release date. Barring anyone acting like an idiot, Toy Story 4 is set for a theatrical release on June 21, 2019. That’s a pretty short turn-around time for a Pixar film.
