AS CBS’s streaming only Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery enters its second season, it looks like we’ll be meeting Capt. Kirk’s predecessor, Captain Pike. As many fans know, Pike was the Captain of the USS Enterprise before Kirk and he’s been featured in the new Star Trek films as well as the original pilot for the first TV series.
If you’ve been watching the show, you’ll remember that season one ended with the Discovery finding the Enterprise. We now know that the Pike will be in charge of the ship when they meet next season and that Inhumans star Anson Mount will be filling the role. There’s no word on how much of a role Pike or the Enterprise will play in the season, but this is a great way to get die-hard fans that have held to give the show a chance when season 2 begins.
